The Shaker Historical Society and Museum was created in 1947 to preserve the history of the North Union Shaker CommunityMore and Shaker Heights, a suburb listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum displays a collection of more than 1,700 pieces, a library and archive with primary and secondary materials. A variety of educational programs are available for students and adults. The building is located on the site of the former North Union Shaker Colony; the property is administered by the Ohio Historical Society.

Severance Hall, the home of the Franz Welser-Most-led Cleveland Orchestra, has been a cultural and architecturalMore landmark in Cleveland since 1931. The building is recognized by both the Cleveland Landmarks Commission and the National Register of Historic Places.

A major $36-million restoration was finished in January 2000, led by David M. Schwartz Architectural Services, which sought to maintain the architectural legacy of the structure while enhancing patron services and the acoustics of the auditorium. The orchestra performs on a seasonal schedule, mostly on weekends and occasionally weekdays.
