Cleveland Heights Police arrest two boys accused of stealing laptop from locked home
Police arrested two boys aged 12 and 14 after they said the boys burglarized a Monticello Road home. Officers were called to a home on the 3500 block April 30 by a resident who said someone entered her home and took a laptop. The woman said that two boys had helped her with yard work the day before and she invited them into her home. Police questioned the boys, and they admitted to going back to the home on April 30 and breaking in to get the laptop.

Cleveland Heights Police burglaries and break-ins, April 17 to 23
A man said his son spotted four men burglarizing their home, and the suspects left with the oven and the back door, police said. The resident of the 2700 block of St. James Parkway reported the burglary just after 8 p.m. on April 20. Two windows were also broken. Burglaries and break-ins in the city reported between Feb. 21 and 26
The Cleveland Heights Police Department are investigating burglaries and break-ins that have occurred in the city. If anyone has information regarding any crime listed in this article, he or she is encouraged to contact the police department at 216-321-1234. Somebody climbed onto a small roof structure and broke into one of the home's second-floor windows. The burglar used another window to exit. The only thing the homeowner found missing was a jar of change. They stole copper piping and a jewelry box. They also left behind two bags of comic books, according to police. The thief kicked in the door and took two Dell laptops, an iPod Touch, a Canon camera and pearl necklace. A teenager -- thought to be 14 to 16 years old -- was spotted breaking into the home. A burglar (or burglars) had taken five necklaces, two watches -- including a Cartier timepiece -- and other jewelry. Police search neighbor’s home in burglary investigation Jan. 19, 3:47 p.m. — A resident of the 1600 block of Glenmont Road reported a that a TV and laptop were stolen. The resident said that their son and his two friends — one who lived next door — were at the home and the son and his friend went to the store, leaving his neighbor alone at the house. Jermail Coleman, 18, will spend 12 years in prison
A man accused of beating an elderly man with a gun will spend the first 12 years of his adult life in prison. Jermail Coleman, 18, of Cleveland Heights, was sentenced to 12 years in prison Thursday after police say he assaulted an elderly Cleveland Heights man. Coleman pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated burglary with firearm specifications, one count of felonious assault and one count of grand theft Dec. 12. Prosecutors say Coleman and his younger brother knocked on the door of an 87-year-old man’s home on Aug. 13, 2012 and asked to use the phone.
