The Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District invites parents, residents and school and city officials to discuss ways students can safely use iPads after school again.

Updated at 11:46 a.m. Tuesday In response to more than a dozen thefts of school-issued iPads, the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District decided in October to collect them from middle school students and not allow them to take them home.  “As long as they are being preyed upon, our students will no longer take the iPads off school property,” Superintendent Doug Heuer said at a press conference about the thefts. “The students will use them during the school day and then secure them in assigned charging stations at the end of the day.” But the school district would like the students at Monticello, Roxboro and Wiley to be able to safely take their iPads home with them again, "since the iPads are a critical component of school …
