MYXX, the former nightclub and bar in the Cedar-Fairmount business district, closed this fall following a slew of reported disturbances and a nuisance declaration by city council. Cedar Fairmount Businesses to Host Holiday Walk Saturday

The district is decorated and Santa is waiting

Cedar Fairmount merchants invite the community to stroll through the business district Saturday for its Holiday Walk from noon to 4 p.m. Santa will collect kids' wish lists at Dave's Market, and children can decorate cookies there, too. The Cleveland Heights Church Singers will sing carols on the sidewalks from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Stores in the area will offer special sales and refreshments. 90 Years in 90 Days: Appletree Books

90 photos that define Cleveland Heights

Cleveland Heights officially became a city in 1921. Cleveland Heights Patch is observing that 90th anniversary by compiling 90 photos to create an album of the city's past and present. We'll run the feature for 90 days, one photo at a time. For more than 20 years, Jane Kessler has kept the doors open at Appletree Books when other bookstores closed shop. The Appletree is a fixture in the Cedar Fairmount district. Kessler bought the bookstore in 1990 after retiring as a psychology professor at Case Western Reserve University. The business has watched bigger stores, like Borders and Joseph-Beth, cut back and close. Kessler says the key is customer service, and her willingness to do outside events.

90 Years in 90 Days: Cedar Fairmount Festival

90 photos that define Cleveland Heights

Cleveland Heights officially became a city in 1921. Cleveland Heights Patch is observing that 90th anniversary by compiling 90 photos to create an album of the city's past and present. We'll run the feature for 90 days, one photo at a time. Cleveland Heights residents and merchants entertain families during the summer months by hosting several street festivals. The Cedar Fairmount Business District hosted its 10th Annual Discover Cedar Fairmont Summer Festival & Arts and Crafts Show in August. The festival featured face painting, entertainment from musicians and dancers, merchant booths, arts and crafts, pony rides, the Euclid Beach Rocket Car, food and more.
