The FRIENDS of the Heights Libraries is now accepting applications for its 2013 Library Education Scholarship. The program was established to encourage careers in library science by offering financial assistance in graduate school, according to a fact sheet included with this article in the PDFs section. Scholarship awards are $500 per semester, and the money is provided to help students with tuition, books and other costs in any American Library Association-accredited graduate program in library science. Applicants must have lived in Cleveland Heights or University Heights or worked at a library in the cities for at least one year, and they must have a desire to pursue library science from an ALA-accredited school.
