The lot has trees that range in cost from $20 to $55
Jae Williams spent Friday around 40 teenagers and many more Christmas trees. Williams, who is the youth director of First Baptist Church, and his volunteers unloaded about 700 trees in preparation for the church's annual Christmas Tree Lot. Volunteers prepare a meal for shoppers with the produce vendors sell.
Every Wednesday throughout the summer and in early fall, First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland hosts a farmers' market from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is the third year the church, which is on the border of Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights, has offered the event. The church market hosts several vendors, and volunteers cook a $5 meal for customers using items people sell so they can try the produce. The farmers' market opened June 20 and runs until an undetermined date in October. Check out our video from August 2011 for more information about what the farmers' market offers, and visit the church's website for more information.
