Cleveland Heights Man to Be Awarded French Legion of Honor

Maurice B. Feren will receive the award at Park Synagogue Saturday.

A Cleveland Heights man will be awarded a French Legion of Honor this Saturday. Maurice B. Feren served in the infantry in the U.S. Army in World War II, fighting in the Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns, according to the French Consulate in Chicago. Feren is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, the EAME Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Battler Starts, the Good Conduct Medal and two Overseas Service Bars. He'll be presented the French Legion of Honor, the highest distinction that France can give to those who have done good deed for France, by Honorary Consul of France in Cleveland Stephen J. Knerly, Jr. The presentation will be during services at Park Synagogue March 2* at 10:15 a.m…
