Visions for Vacancies: Borders At Severance

What would you like to see in the space at Severance Town Center?

The old Borders in Severance Town Center is still vacant. According to an article published in The Plain Dealer Sept. 7, 2010, the store opened in February 2000 and shuttered Oct. 2, 2010. Cleveland Heights Mayor Ed Kelley said the company that owns Severance, Pine Tree Commercial Realty, LLC, is optimistic that something will fill the space soon, but for now we want your ideas. If you could pick a store or restaurant, what would it be? Do you have other suggestions for the property? Tell us your choice in the comments below. If we receive a lot, we'll collect them all and republish them with a poll. PREVIOUS VISIONS FOR VACANCIES: Visions for Vacancies: What Should Replace Walmart? Visions for Vacancies: Petland of the Heights

What would you like to see move into the former pet store on Lee Road?

Many new businesses have opened in the Cedar Lee Business District in the past few months — SweetieFry, New Heights Grill and The Wine Spot, just to name a few. But a few storefronts remain vacant, including the former Petland of the Heights building at 2255 Lee Road. We want to know, what business would you like to see move into the space? Tell us in the comments.

There's a great, very popular, small bowling alley in Minneapolis called Bryant Lake Bowl. 6 lanes, a small bar and a stage on the side for local bands, stand up comedy and theater. http://bryantlakebowl.com/ Very hipster, very neighborhood-y, very successful. It'd be fun to see some sort of 'activity' space on Cedar/Lee.   more ›

Visions for Vacancies: Mirage Studio

What business would you like to see in the former Mirage Studio space?

Many new businesses have opened in the Cedar Lee Business District in the past few months — SweetieFry, New Heights Grill and The Wine Spot, just to name a few. But a few storefronts remain vacant, including the former Mirage Studio space at 2174 Lee Road. We want to know, what business would you like to see there? Tell us in the comments.

Ever since I visited this spot in Chicago, I've wanted one to open here: http://thousandwavesspa.com/about.html. It could be a natural extension of the Sanctuary nearby. Men have http://www.acontinuouslean.com/2008/12/29/the-schvitz/ and http://www.flexspas.com/. This would be a nice addition for women.   more ›
