A Dollar General employee was sprayed with mace during a robbery at the Lee Road store at 8:50 p.m. June 9. A man walked into the Lee Road store and was browsing for a while before he stopped an employee and asked her to open the safe, according to police reports. He gave her a bag and told her to fill it with money. She complied, and after she handed him the bag, he sprayed her with mace. The man fled and shortly after Cleveland Heights police arrested a suspect at the Sunoco gas station just down the road. Police charged Charles Fitzgerald, 43, of Cleveland, with aggravated robbery.

A Cleveland Heights man who prosecutors say robbed two people in a car at gunpoint appeared in court Wednesday. Carl Sanders, 21, took money, a purse and other items from two people sitting in a car parked on the side of a Marathon Gas Station on Woodland Avenue in Cleveland Feb. 26, said Ryan Miday, spokesperson for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason's Office. But he left something behind. Sanders opened the door and pointed a gun at a 31-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man.
