2013 will bring lots of New Year's resolutions, and the stress of keeping them up along with it. Dr. Megan Hood, a clinical psychologist with an expertise in stress management at Chicago’s Rush University Medical Center, said trying to attain a more stress-free existence is a pretty popular goal around the holidays and the new year. But staying away from stress is not as simple as making a New Year’s Eve wish. “That tends to be a common goal, a nice broad goal,” Hood said. “But it also tends to be challenging.” Still, Hood has some tips to keep stress at bay. Sullivan was named Soccer Coach of the Year in Ohio and is a teacher at Noble Elementary School.
Each year Sean Sullivan gathers as many teddy bears and stuffed animals as he can and donates them to the kids at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. Last year he donated around 2,000 to children. "He's always there to support the kids, whatever age they are," Mayor Ed Kelley said of Sullivan. While he's a charitable person, Sullivan is best known in the community for his devotion to teaching kids the game of soccer. By day he teaches fifth grade science at Noble Elementary, but at other times he's coaching. Sullivan is the head coach of the men’s varsity soccer team at Heights High and runs his own business, owner of Heights United Soccer Academy. And he's also the director of coaching for the Cleveland Heights Recreation League …

After brief winter reprieve, heavy snow to return to area
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of northern Ohio, calling for up to a foot of snow in some areas. The warning will be in effect from 9 tonight through 4 p.m Friday. According to the weather service, a strong low-pressure system will move from Cincinnati toward Youngstown tonight, with rain, sleet and eventually snow and heavy winds. The heaviest accumulation is expected between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. Friday. By Friday afternoon, we're expected to see snow accumulation of six to 10 inches, with some areas getting up to a foot. Winds are expected to pick up Friday, with gusts expected up to 35 mph. Check back for updates as the storm progresses.
