Man caught red-handed with stolen steaks April 24, 10:25 p.m. — A caller reported that a man was looking through cars on the 2100 block of Surrey Road. Officers went to the area and stopped Rodney Lamar Boyd, 44, who matched the caller’s description. Police ran his name and found that he had three arrest warrants with Cleveland Heights Police, and, upon searching him, found eight stolen raw steaks from Dave’s Market. A man said his son spotted four men burglarizing their home, and the suspects left with the oven and the back door, police said. The resident of the 2700 block of St. James Parkway reported the burglary just after 8 p.m. on April 20. Two windows were also broken. Woman charged with drunken driving after hit/skip Saturday, Nov. 24, 10:06 p.m. — A hit/skip was reported at Mayfield and Cumberland roads. Police performed sobriety tests on the driver and report that her blood alcohol level was .158, nearly twice the legal limit. She was charged with drunken driving. A 15-year-old has been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, and police are still investigating.
A Cleveland Heights police officer was flagged down by two men who said they had been robbed at gunpoint by three men at about 4:30 p.m. Nov. 13 on Lancashire Road. Police arrested one of the suspects — a 15-year-old — and charged him with aggravated robbery. They are continuing to investigate the incident. Robbery Reported at Huntington Bank on Coventry Road The Huntington Bank on Coventry Road was robbed at about 3:23 p.m. Nov. 18. One man said a Beachwood resident threatened him with a gun.
A verbal argument over a parking spot near the 3900 block of Mayfield Road in Cleveland Heights escalated to the point that police responded and arrested one man. The fight started around noon on Nov. 16, according to police records. Two men were arguing over a parking spot, when one man — a 63-year-old from Beachwood — lifted up his coat and revealed a gun, the victim reported. Police responded and recovered a weapon from the Beachwood man. He was charged with aggravated menacing. Reports compiled from call logs and information from the Cleveland Heights Police Department.

Jason Tait, 28, is accused of firing a gun at his ex-girlfriend's car while she was driving and setting her home on fire.
Cleveland Heights Police are searching for a man accused of shooting a gun at his ex-girlfriend's car while she was driving and setting her home on fire. Jason Tait, 28, is wanted for attempted murder and aggravated arson charges. He was last seen in the 149th Street and St. Clair area, according to the Cleveland Heights Police Department's Facebook page, but "is known to frequent the Cleveland Heights area." According to police reports, Tait fired shots at his ex-girlfriend's car while she was driving down Kildare Road at 7:38 p.m. Oct. 27. The man is wanted for at least six robberies in the Cleveland area.
The man who robbed Ohio Savings Bank in Cleveland Heights Nov. 1 is also a suspect in five other bank robberies in the area, according to information from the Cleveland FBI. Since Oct. 26, the man is accused of robbing banks in University Heights, Cleveland, and Lyndhurst. Most recently, the man, described as black, approximately 6 feet tall and 230 to 250 pounds, robbed Huntington Bank on East 185th Street in Cleveland at 4:41 p.m. Tuesday. The man, just like he did in Cleveland Heights, presented a note that the bank was being robbed. He was wearing a dark coat and a camouflage hat with ear flaps. The Cleveland Heights resident called police and said several men were running through her backyard with items under their jackets.
A Cleveland Heights resident called police at 1:15 p.m. Nov. 3 and said four men were running through her backyard with items under their jackets. While police were following up on that call, another woman called and reported a burglary near the 14000 block of Superior. Cleveland Heights police said they eventually caught three of four accused of the burglary. The men reportedly stole one pair of shoes and an iPhone. One boy, a 20-year-old East Cleveland man and 21-year-old Cleveland Heights man have been arrested, but according to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office website, the two adults have not been charged yet. Police have an arrest warrant for a Cleveland Heights man they say shot a man in Shaker Heights.
The Shaker Heights Police Department supplied the following information. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Shaker Heights Police are looking for a Cleveland Heights man they say shot and injured a man last week. The victim said that Anthony Dowell, 30, shot him in the arm and the back him near the 12800 block of Fairhill Road in Shaker Lakes Park after an argument. The victim fled and hopped onto a city bus. The city bus driver called police, who transported the man to the hospital. He's since been released. Dowell is a black male, 5 foot, 11 inches and 170 pounds.
