A cop melodrama at Dobama masterfully targets painful truths
Anyone who has watched even a modicum of television has seen enough police procedurals and cop-buddy duos to last several lifetimes. Police are often called upon to make many quick decisions, and sometimes the choices they make can haunt them forever. In the play A Steady Rain, scheduled to open at Dobama Theatre on Friday, the ripples from their decision are immense and tragic. The play gained some notoriety when it opened on Broadway in 2009 with film icons Daniel Craig (the current James Bond) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine in X-Men) cast in the two starring roles.
