Students, faculty, staff and administrators packed John Carroll University’s Kulas Auditorium on Feb. 21 to watch two actors from Catharsis Productions– an acting company based out of Chicago. Although humor and improvisation comprised the performance, the show wasn’t meant for entertainment purposes alone. “Sex Signals,” an educational show, examines controversial issues such as stereotypic gender roles, double standards, social pressures, sexual assault, dating violence and rape – in a way to engage, inform and entertain. Comedy Troupe Presents Sketch Show Tonight at John Carroll

The Public Squares' first show in four years, "Is Speed Dating an Olympic Sport," is a sketch comedy that will be presented twice this weekend

The Public Squares comedy troupe returns after four years away from the stage with the mission to bring sketch comedy back to Northeast Ohio. The journey begins at 8 p.m. tonight with “Is Speed Dating an Olympic Sport?” The show takes place at the Green Road Annex, 2200 S. Green Road, on the campus of John Carroll University. The group will give another performance on Saturday at the same time. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for both shows. "It's a series of sketches in the show that are based on speed-dating, but it's not exclusively about that," said Andrew Craze, a Shaker resident who has performed with the troupe, but now handles lights and sound for the Public Squares. UPDATED: Cleveland Heights High's R.E.A.L. Students Can Earn Credit From John Carroll

Students in the high school's R.E.A.L. Early College small school can earn up to two years of college credit starting this year.

This article was originally published at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 6. Students in one of Cleveland Heights High's small schools can now earn college credit from John Carroll University. The program, officially approved the school board at its Sept. 4 meeting, will allow students in the R.E.A.L. Early College small school to earn up to two years of college credit and starts this academic year. Students can enroll in their junior or senior years, and they will also take electives at Heights High "to ensure they still receive a high school experience," the district wrote in a press release about the program. John Carroll Recognizes CH-UH's Joe Micheller

John Carroll University presented Joe Micheller, director of special programs for the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District, with the Distinguished Educator Award.

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School Board announced at its June 5 meeting that John Carroll University recognized Joe Micheller’s work by giving him the Distinguished Educator Award. Superintendent Doug Heuer called the director of special programs and compliance for the district a visionary. “He is a dedicated professional and a master of his craft.
