Exterior Improvements Begin at Noble Library

The newly renovated interior reopened in May, and phase 2 outdoor work has begun

The Noble Neighborhood Library reopened in May after being shuttered for seven months while it received a major interior face-lift. Now it’s time for the exterior to get the same treatment. Phase 2 of the $1 million renovation project began last week, and work should be completed by Nov. 15, according to a press release from the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library. The scope of work includes power washing, replacing and painting wood around windows, installing a sump pump system in the basement, roofing on the north side of the building and tuck pointing the masonry. “We will also replace the front door and stone stairs, concrete walks, and some landscaping, as well as removing the brick walls on the Noble Road sidewalk, re…

Noble Neighborhood Library Reopening Delayed One Week

Kickoff party still set for May 15

The Noble Neighborhood Library reopening has been delayed one week, and will now be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 23, instead of May 16. The library will still throw a party for residents to celebrate the new space from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 15.  The branch, one of four in Cleveland Heights and University Heights, closed for seven months for renovations, which will cost about $1 million once the project is complete, according to a press release. Features include an early childhood room, which was paid for with a $32,000 grant, plus more space and technology.  The second phase of renovations will focus on the exterior of the library to improve the lighting and landscaping, preserve the stone and brick on the building and improve the front steps…
