Cleveland Heights Police Investigating Rape on Coventry Road

A woman said she was raped early Monday morning behind Burgers-N-Beer

Cleveland Heights Police are investigating a rape that happened in the early morning hours of Monday in the 1800 block of Coventry Road. A 24-year-old woman was at Burgers-N-Beer Sunday night. Later, she went outside behind the building so she could smoke a cigarette. While outside, a man attacked and raped her, she reported. She told the police that the rapist was a black man with short cropped hair, as well as facial hair, and that he wore a black-and-white striped sweater. The woman was taken to Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield for medical treatment. No suspect has been arrested as of yet. UPDATED: Heights High Student Charged With Rape at School

Khyri Grace, 19, of Cleveland Heights, was arrested and has been charged with rape. Arrest and charges do not indicate conviction.

This story was first published at 6:37 p.m. March 21 and updated at 6 p.m. March 22 Cleveland Heights High School student Khyri Grace was arrested and has been charged with a rape that reportedly occurred at the school Thursday. The 19-year-old football player is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in the boys bathroom, said Police Chief Jeffrey Robertson. The Cleveland Heights resident was being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail on a $15,000 bond but posted bail March 19, and police are still investigating. Angee Shaker, communications director for the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District, said each small school principal sent a letter Friday to all parents about this "very troubling incident."
