Hope Lutheran Church, Neighbor

Hope Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), www.elca.org.  We are a racially, ethnically, and economically diverse congregation; participating in the Lutheran's "Reconciling in Christ" program, meaning our doors are open and embracing to the lesbian/gay community as well.  We truly live up to our motto, that "Diversity Thrives Here!" 

Organized in 1909, we are currently involved in an annual summer day camp for neighborhood children, "Godly Play" (a Montessori-based Sunday School program), the various outreach opportunities provided by Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry, an acolyte program for youths to assist in our worship, a Women's group and a Men's group, and many volunteer opportunities.  Our members come very locally as well as from across town. 

Pastor Don King has served Hope since 1999, and remains active in community activities as well as the ELCA as a force for change.  We welcome you to visit us any Sunday morning as we celebrate being a community in Christ through Word and Sacrament at 9:30 a.m.  Christian Education for all ages continues at 11:00 a.m.  We welcome YOU here!
