I've built a career as a professional communicator, helping businesses and nonprofits deliver messages to target audiences. With the arrival of social media, I found myself passionate about all things digital and the Net's ability to make journalists and students of every user, informing and connecting.

And yet, I kept feeling as though I couldn't find "myself' online. 

There are dozens of sites connecting women who are fiercely childless-by-choice or who’ve suffered a miscarriage, regret an abortion or lost a child to disease or violence. I’m not in any of those groups. I started TheNotMom.com to be a resource for and about women without children, regardless of how they achieved that status, and to draw attention to this unexplored niche of women.
