New Principal Named At Wiley Middle School

Fred Thomas has been named the new principal at Wiley Middle School, announced Cleveland Heights - University Heights Schools.

Wiley Middle School has a new principal.

Fred Thomas will take over as principal at the school because former principal Octavia Reid has been promoted to a district office position as coordinator of educational services.

Thomas has been with the district for 12 years, including seven years at Wiley.

"With Mr. Thomas’s knowledge of the school, students, staff and parents, we are confident that he can step into Dr. Reid’s shoes and ensure a seamless transition for the Wiley Middle School community,"  said Cleveland Heights - University Heights Superintendent Nylajean McDaniel

Thomas has a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University and a Masters from John Carroll University. He began his career in the CH-UH City School District as a math teacher at Cleveland Heights High School

Thomas left the district in 2000 to become a principal in the Bedford City Schools before returning in 2006 to become assistant principal of Wiley Middle School.
