Woman Punched, Robbed On Mayfield Road After Friend Runs Away

A woman was hit and robbed by three men while walking along Mayfield Road at night, according to Cleveland Heights Police.

The 18-year-old woman was walking home at about 10 p.m. on May 23 with her 23-year-old male friend after she went with him to University Hospitals because he was not feeling well.

Near the 2800 block of Mayfield Road, the woman told police that three men stepped out from the alley and surrounded them. The woman's friend ran away and went to a nearby deli to call 911, according to the police report.

Meanwhile, the robbers punched the woman in the face and stole her Coach purse, which contained a small amount of cash, her Social Security card and some gift cards, the report says.

The woman was taken to UH for treatment. Police were unable to locate the robbers.
